JAMAL KHASHOGGI’S MURDER: EXPLORING FRAMES IN CROSS-NATIONAL MEDIA COVERAGE

Present research study was aimed to examine the cross-national coverage and framing patterns about Jamal Khashoggi’s murder in international media through focusing on newspapers. Khashoggi; an internationally acclaimed US based Saudi journalist brutally assassinated at Kingdom’s consulate Turkey which created global outcry. As issue made headlines worldwide for several months, from USA, Kingdom of Arabia, Turkey; most substantially politically involved countries presumably used certain their coverage. To find out difference intensity frames, a content analysis comparative US, Turkish newspapers conducted is guided by theory Mass Communication. The results showed that three selected dealt same with significant differences patterns. Conclusion findings such were influenced respective state’s ideology, interests, governance system, public narrative, or settings. also explored some facts regarding freedom expression journalists who have been targeted reprisal professional work all over world. elaborate anti-Saudi frames So far as overall concerned papers provided while Arabia least are highly state bound.
